K.V. Mahadevan (1918-2001) was a renowned Indian music composer for Tamil and Telugu films. Known as "Mellisai Mannar" (king of light music), he composed music for over 700 films in a career spanning more than four decades. He won several national and state awards for his contributions to music in films. His compositions were known for their classical-tinged melodies and soulful lyrics, and he worked with some of the biggest film personalities of his time, including M.G. Ramachandran and Sivaji Ganesan. Some of his popular compositions include "Malare Mounama" and "Naan Aanaiyittal" in Tamil, and "Chandamama Raavil" and "Ennadi Meenakshi" in Telugu. His legacy continues to be celebrated by music lovers across the country.
